Bruce Hodsdon has brought more representative involvement to our Union than at any time in years.
He seeks out members to be on committees, he spends more time on the road for chapter meetings than any president in many years partly because he is a full time president but mostly because he thinks the members should run the Union.

I have sat through two bargaining sessions with Bruce Hodsdon and he NEVER came with an agenda, he never pushed his ideas or blocked ours.

I don't agree with some things Bruce has done but I have seen his success. If you have not seen the success maybe it is because you have not been involved.

You wrote above that "Hodsdon has compiled a long, successful record with MSEA-SEIU since taking office two years ago", what's your proof and I don't want to hear excuses? Don't get me wrong, I like Bruce Hodsdon personally, but I have yet to see evidence of his or Ginette Rivard's rumored success at MSEA. And I am way past voting for someone just because I like them.

Too true. I drive this daily and it's pretty confusing. The other morning I had one flagger send me off to the right, following a Lane Construction truck who was STOPPING. I wasn't supposed to be behind him at all. On another occasion, in the village, I watched a flagger carry on a conversation with a young lady across the road, from the kind of car she wanted to buy to heaven only knows what else!

No...this definitely is NOT a DOT project!

Folks, don't buy the lie.

Zombie UHW keeps regurgitating the same old lies, the same old spin that came out of the Marshall Hearings, which were completely one-sided and had the outcome predetermined even before the first deposition was taken. The only surprise to come out of the Marshall hearings was that Secretary Marshall recommended trusteeship for an issue that was not even part of the reason for the hearings in the first place.

The real criminals in the SEIU-NUHW fight are the Purple People who have just this week actively colluded with Kaiser Permanente and allowed almost 1200 workers to receive pink slips without the called-for process in the existing contract.

These occurred AFTER closed-door "Enterprise Bargaining" between SEIU and Kaiser Permanente, and that "Enterprise Bargaining" occurred without representatives of the affected workers, without election of a bargaining committee, and without periodic reports back to the rank-and-file on what was occurring in that bargaining.

And now, with SEIU's silent assent, Kaiser is talking about cutting back its after-hours clinical service hours in Stockton, a city which does not have a Kaiser Hospital with an ED. Those patients in Stockton will instead have to go to a non-Kaiser facility for after-hours non-emergent acute-care needs. And the workers at that facility will see their hours - or possibly their jobs - drastically cut. The only thing that anyone has heard from SEIU is silence. A Kaiser PR flack from Fresno stating that the letter to the members regarding the service cuts needed to be "fine-tuned."

SEIU's reckoning will come. Eventually we, the members, will be given the opportunity to tell SEIU exactly what we think of their "representation" since the imposition of the trusteeship. And we will then be able to show Kaiser that their collusion with Zombie UHW and SEIU will have repercussions.

The ousted former uhw union stewards swore not to harm members "you cannot win a war with the enemy beside you".Joining NUHW will definately harm SEIU UHW members ..The shady former leaders should be arraigned by the federal courts for their corruption and theft of millions of dollars of members money. The former leaders greed for power has put our membership at risk.Shame on Sal Roselli and his cronies

I don't know of "several" former MSEA presidents with SEIU jobs. I believe you may be off by some degree. If you are right, list the names. This type of open discussion can be resolved every two years when we have elections.

Here is something to ponder. Several MSEA presidents once finished their term they then go work to for SEIU. While they were president of MSEA they promoted and spoke highly of SEIU and how SEIU helps MSEA. This is bogus. The money we give to SEIU is a rip-off. Ask yourself what has SEIU done for you in the last 10 years or last 20 years. SIEU takes our money and does nothing for MSEA rank and file members, but SEIU does give high paying jobs to former MSEA presidents. Basicly, SEIU is buying/ bribing our leadership so we keep the affiliation. This is digusting. It is time to break with SEIU.
